Meet Our Pastor

Rev. John D. Karmo is a native of Bomi and Cape Mount Counties, Liberia and a current resident of Crystal, Minnesota. He served as the Senior Pastor of Zion Grove Baptist Church in Brewerville, Liberia for over 21 years where he propagated kingdom-like living by unconditional love for God and all of God’s People. He has served in many kingdom building and professional capacities. He served as Director of National and International mission at the Ebenezer community church of Bloomington, MN.

He served as Program Director peace and Conflict resolution at the Liberian Council of churches for over twelve years, Executive Secretary- Liberia Baptist Missionary and Program Officer Integral Missions for the Association of Evangelicals of Liberia. In additional, Rev. John Karmo has affiliations with the Baptist World Alliance, Canadian Baptist Ministries and the American Red Cross. Rev. John D. Karmo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology (Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary), Master of Arts (MA) in Congregation, Mission and Leadership at Luther Seminary (St. Paul, MN). Above all, Rev Karmo brings to UCFC and the Community of faith: Master’s in leadership and Mission with over 20 years of professional experience in Project Management and Coordination; Good budgeting skills and management of project finances. In-depth knowledge of Peace building and conflict resolution; Strategic leadership skills and strong operational controls; Ability to work under stressful environment and He possesses a strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Rev. Karmo is an ever-ready person; with over 21 years of pastoral leadership and caregiving and have extensively traveled the world with a wide range of travel experiences. He is a veteran Baptist Preacher, Pastor and Innovation Speaker, He loves God and the challenges of helping others see God’s grace in their own lives by pro-claiming that Jesus Christ is the way, the Truth and the Life. Rev. Karmo shares the joy of been united in holy matrimony to his true love, the former Ms. Bettie Simpson. This union has been graciously blessed with several children both in the US and Liberia. Rev. Karmo is a loving husband and father. He is a recognized spiritual leader in his community.
